Upgrade Unitrends Software to 7.1.0 When Upgrading ESX Servers to 5.0 Update 2 or Later
When upgrading the vCenter/ESX inventory to version 5.0 Update 2 or later, customer should upgrade to Unitrends Software Version 7.1.0 or later
When the vCenter/ESX inventory is updated to Version 5.0 Update 2 or later, the SMBIOS UUID of the ESX Servers is returned different from the ESX Side i.e. for the same ESX Server, a different SMBIOS UUID is returned. This makes incorrect entries in Unitrends Software and might cause various symptoms like scheduled backups failing, seeing an additional entry of the upgraded ESX host/s on the User Interface, etc.
When an ESX Server is upgraded, VMware returns a different SMBIOS UUID for the same ESX Server. This creates incorrect entries in the Unitrends’ Database and would cause vague errors as mentioned above.
This has been fixed in Unitrends Software Version 7.1.0 and later. Hence, upgrading to the latest version of Unitrends Software will bring the system back to a stable state
