This article explains how to increase the storage attached to your Unitrends Free appliance.
Unitrends Free supports attached virtual disk storage. If you need additional storage, use the hypervisor to create a new virtual disk or attach an existing virtual disk to your appliance VM. Then configure any of your appliance VM's virtual disks you wish as backup storage through the Edit Storage dialog on the Configure > Appliance page. If you do not see the virtual disk you are looking for in the Edit Storage dialog, click Refresh.

The instructions for creating and adding a virtual disk are the same for all versions of Hyper-V. It is recommended that you add the disk to the SCSI controller. See the following Microsoft documents:
