SUMMARY

Appliance UI is blank following DR from a cold backup copy.

ISSUE

When performing a DR, insufficient space on the target appliance may cause the database to fail to start. If this issue occurs, a blank screen is observed when attempting to log in to the newly recovered appliance. 

RESOLUTION

There are two ways to resolve this issue:

  1. Perform the DR procedure on a new target appliance with backup storage expanded to greater than or equal to the size of the original appliance's cold backup copy media. 
  2. (Required for a Recovery Series appliance target) Perform the DR procedure without selecting assets for import. All cold backup copy data will be present on the recovered appliance; however, these backups will need to be manually imported after the DR process is complete.
