Boomerang: There are many sub-directory folders in the S3 bucket under vmdk folder. Why are old folders are not deleted as I have 3 days retention?

Over 300 Directories in Amazon S3 even though 3 days of retention was selected.

Please do not access the back-end of the Amazon storage, as it could corrupt the data that is used to rebuild the VMs.

The directories in the Amazon S3 storage are based on the blocks of data needed which are collected and maintained over the lifetime of the VM and to recreate the various checkpoints. We do not re-age the blocks which is why you could see directories that are very old, but we do discard anything that is no longer needed. If a restore is required, these items are used to recompile the VM and make it available to you.
