ISSUE

For direct access to backup data files, for pulling full/incremental backup files to tape, for example, you can expose an attached disk backup data store by enabling Raw Data Access.

Note: Attached disks are exposed as NFS by default. This can be changed to CIFS if needed using the Global Settings, Advanced Setting, Local Attached Disks Shared as option.

To enable Raw Data Access for an attached disk

1. On the Configure tab, select the appliance with the attached disk storage.

2. In the Storage tab, select the storage to expose.

3. Click Edit to open the Edit dialog for the storage.

4. Click Enable Raw Data Access

You can now access the raw backup data by connecting directly to the appliance, using its IP address.

If using NFS:

[VBA IP address]:/mnt/bds/[UUID]

If using CIFS:

\\[VBA IP address]\[UUID]

Note: When accessing the share, if prompted for a user name and password, use the credentials admin/password.
